FINAL PASSAGESB 490 (Gilbert) SB 490 would allow the Mackinac Bridge Authority to self-insure the bridge, and to maintain a reserve fund of at least $1 million. Larger losses would be paid out of state transportation tax revenue.
HB 5086 (Simpson) HB 5086 would allow for the designation of 40 renaissance zones for agricultural processing facilities, rather than 30 as under current law. "Qualified agricultural processors" who locate in a zone are exempt from state and local taxes for up to 15 years.

HB 4788 (Johnson) This bill would amend section 15 of the Public Employee Relations Act, PA 336 of 1947, to allow for additional flexibility in collective bargaining for failing schools.
HB 4789 (Melton) This bill amends the State School Aid Act by adding "turnaround schools" to the definition of a Public School Academy . Under current law, "public school academy" means a public school
HB 5058 (Sheltrown) HB 5058 would sell to a particular family named in the bill, at fair market value, a 475 acre parcel of state land in Iosco County specified in the bill, which is currently under the control of the Department of Natural Resources.
SB 483 (Allen) SB 483 would revise a detail a 2008 law that eliminated the requirement that a person who participates in a bobcat or bear hunt with dogs but who does not carry a gun or shoot an animal must still have a hunting license. Currently, the law specifies that the non-shooter must not “own or possess” the dogs. The bill would strike out the word “possess”.
HB 4383 (Pearce) HB 4383 would revise the requirement that a person who registers by mail and has never voted in Michigan must provide identification when voting the first time. The bill would allow the person to show up at any municipal clerk’s office not later than eight days before the election and show his or her ID, and would then require that clerk to notify the clerk of the appropriate jurisdiction.
HB 4993 (Melton) HB 4993 would allow a person to register to vote at any county, city, or township clerk's office in the state, not just in the community where the person lives. The clerk taking the registration would have to transmit it to the clerk of the county, city, or township where the applicant resides.
HB 5099 (Clemente) HB 5099 would allow the “strategic economic investment and commercialization board” that is one component of the “ 21st Century Jobs Fund” to provide subsidies in the form of loans, convertible loans, equity investments, and warrants. Also, to authorize subsidies for so-called “accelerator funds,” defined as an “investment fund targeted at early stage technology companies”.
HB 5100 (Clemente) HB 5100 would allow the “strategic economic investment and commercialization board” that is one component of the “ 21st Century Jobs Fund” to provide subsidies in the form of loans, convertible loans, equity investments, and warrants. Also, to increase the amount that can be spent each year on these subsidies, and not include administrative expenses within those caps.
